Since our family caught the baton from the Williams family in 1982, we have made it our goal to provide our neighbors with memorable tributes at prices they can afford. John Alan Blevins was born and raised in Columbia, TN. He attended Zion Christian Academy from Preschool until graduation in 2007. Following high school he attended Lee University and later transferred to the University of Tennessee Knoxville graduating in the spring of 2012 with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. He is currently working towards planning his future with his soon to be wife Ashlyn Elizabeth White and obtaining his funeral directors license. After years of watching his father care for others during the most trying of times, he felt that he would be able to carry on his father’s care and compassion for those in need.
Valeria Vanderpool
Funeral Director
Valeria Vanderpool was raised in Sumner County, Tennessee. She is the daughter of Gabriela and Foster Vanderpool. A graduate of John A. Gupton College, a licensed funeral director, and an embalmer, Valeria found her calling in providing comfort to families during the most difficult times in their lives. At the Cremation Society of Tennessee, she has dedicated herself to serving the families of Columbia, TN.

Your loved one never leaves our care.
Some cremation societies transfer your loved one to a third-party cremation facility. Some even send them out of state. We will never do that. We don’t have to because we own and operate our own crematory. We also follow a strict identification process and even allow you view the cremation, if you choose, for the ultimate peace of mind.
Our crematory operators are certified
Tennessee state law doesn’t require that crematory operators be certified. But ours are certified through the Cremation Association of North America, the leading global cremation organization.
