Obituary
Walter V. “Jim” McClain, age 64, of Murfreesboro, passed away on Sunday, January 13, in Smyrna, TN. Jim was born October 24, 1948 in McMinnville, TN, the son of the late Joe Haskell McClain and Georgia Pearl Turner McClain. On January 3, 1982, he married Deborah Southern and they just celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary. Jim and Debbie enjoyed fishing and camping on weekends and he also enjoyed hunting and gardening. He had served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Jim was self employed as an automobile mechanic. He regularly attended Life Point Church, Stewart’s Creek Campus in Smyrna. In addition to Debbie, Jim leaves behind his children, Amanda McClain-Beyal of Murfreesboro and Byron Elizabeth McClain of Franklin; five grandchildren, Devon McClain, Adyson McClain-Beyal, Grace McClain, Ella McClain and Jackson McClain, along with five sisters, two brothers and several nieces and nephews. Jim’s family will celebrate his life on Saturday, January 19, at 1000 A.M. at Life Point Church, Stewart’s Creek Campus, located at 5100 Almaville Road in Smyrna, TN.
