Virginia Conn

Born Aug. 24, 1956 in Cookeville, TN to Sara McDonald Stringham and Jack Fred Stringham. Died June 2, 2015 at Vanderbilt Medical Center following a brief illness. She moved to Nashville in 1962, graduated from Overton High School, attended Vanderbilt University, and earned a degree in Communications from MTSU. She worked in graphic design and printing, in retail sales, and worked with the NFL in game day documentation for Titans games. She had been an active community volunteer including Bellevue Community Church, the Springfield-Robertson Co. Senior Center and CASA of Robertson Co. In support of her father’s military service as a former POW in World War II, she assisted with coordination of many events for the Nashville POW association.

Virginia was a talented ceramics artist, working with her mother in creation and sales of ceramics items. She loved celebrating holidays and finding wonderful gifts for her entire family, especially her young nieces, nephews and cousins. She had never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew her.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Ricky L. Conn, stepson Bryan Conn and his daughter Dana; stepson Josh Mays (Julie); sister Sarai Stringham Reed, Coopertown; brother Jack F. Stringham II (Anne) Nashville; nephews 2nd Lt. Donovan Reed, USAF, San Antonio TX; John R. Stringham. M.D. (Casey) Denver, CO; niece Ramsey S. Raybeck (Chris) Nashville; sister-in-law Vicky Cagle (Ronnie) and her sons Joey and Jeremy; aunt Eunetta M. Carmack (James), Winchester, TN; several cousins, great-nieces and nephew.

A memorial service will be held Saturday June 13, at 2:00 pm in Stanford Chapel at First Presbyterian Church, 4815 Franklin Rd, Nashville. Visitation with the family will precede the service at 12:30 pm. in Cheek House.
