  1. I am saddened to read of Vicki’s passing, and extend my sympathies to the family and to all of Vicki’s friends. She often spoke proudly of the egalitarian nature of Oak Ridge (where she grew up) — where janitors and teachers and technicians and nuclear physicists all lived and worked and dined together. Perhaps this environment engendered her ability to freely speak truth to power. I worked with Vicki at Nashville State Community College. Prior to working for NSCC, Vicki worked in the printing industry, and then became a trainer/field representative for a typesetting company. Vicki taught Type Concepts, Imaging Technologies, Desktop Publishing, and Quark XPress. She was awarded Tenure, and served as our Program Coordinator. Her impact on the curriculum of the Visual Communications department is still felt. –David Weilmuenster

Vicki was a most amazing friend. She could talk to anyone and make them feel special. Her knowledge on so many things was amazing. I missed talking to her about March Madness this year. I hope her family knows how much she meant to people all over the world.
