Spencer Rudolph Bowers

Spencer R. Bowers, age 73, of Fairfield Glades, TN, passed away on Sunday, September 15, at Vanderbitl Univesity Medical Center. Spencer was born January 24, 1940 in Bloomington, IL, the son of the late Junior Rudolph Bowers and Alice Josephine Rynell Bowers. He was a college professor, spending most of years teaching at Oakton Community College in Illinois, just south of Chicago. Before settling at Oakton, he had traveled and taught in Poland, England and Germany. Spencer is survived by his wife Deborah Browne Bowers; two children, Megan Bowers and husband Andrew Goldstein of Redondo Beach, CA., and Seth Amy Bowers of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Klara and Declan Goldstein, both of Redondo beach, CA; two sisters, Frances N. Kepler of Mapleton, IL and Dr. Sandra Benckendorf of Berlin, NH along with one brother, Gerald Bowers of Bloomington, IL. The family will celebrate Spencer’s life at a later date.
