Obituary

Mrs. Ruth Lucas VanNatta, age 82 of Thompson’s Station, TN, died Thursday morning in Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, TN. Mrs. VanNatta was a native of Louisville, KY and a retired Executive Secretary for the Southern Baptist Convention. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Lucas 1969 and Paul VanNatta 1982 and her parents, Albert and Mamie Able Boes. Ruth was a graduate of the Louisville Girls School in Louisville, KY and served as the Executive Secretary for the Southern Baptist Convention. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Middletown, KY. Survivors include a son: Doug Lucas of Thompson Station, TN; and daughter: Peggy Schafer of Oreland, PA; a brother: Orville Boes of Berea, KY; and sister: Mildred Smith of Louisville, KY. 7 grandchildren: Toby Schafer, Nicholas Schafer, Kara Lucas, Dana Lucas, Alex Lucas, Nicholas Stuckey, and Kyle Stuckey; and 2 great-grandchildren: Logan and Matthew Schafer also survive. The family will conduct private memorial services to celebrate Ruth’s life.
