Robin Elizabeth Mink June 6, 1955 – December 15, 2012
Robin, or as she was known to those she loved best, Momma, Miss Robin, GaGa, or Gabga, passed quietly at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville Tennessee on December 15, 2012. She left this world surrounded by family, which is how she loved to spend her time. Robin gave birth to two children, Timothy Mink and Amber Edwards. However, these were not the only ones to look at her as a mother. She spent much of her life working with children and adolescents. Over the past decade she was known for taking in “stray” kids. These were young men who were lost and without direction or had nowhere else to turn. Some stayed a night or two and a few were more permanent fixtures. She touched the lives of each of these youths in such a way that her smile and words of wisdom will stay with her for years to come.
Robin was an English Literature major at UAFS and had hoped to one day become a professor. Anyone who knew her well knows a little something of Shakespeare, the line of Henry VIII or the truth behind the Borgia’s. She could not help but impart knowledge, even in casual conversation. Miss Robin is survived by her two children Timothy Mink of Knoxville Tennessee and Amber Edwards of Alcoa Tennessee, Two grandsons Michael David Andrade-Mink of Fremont, California, and Noah Michael Edwards of Alcoa, Tennessee, a brother and sister John Knowles and Sandy Larimer. Robin also leaves behind countless friends whose lives she touched deeply and three young men who think of her as a mother and always will Christopher Marvel, David “Staplez” Root, and Clayton “Yetti” Edwards. She will be missed by all who knew her.
