Richard Jackson Austin

Richard Jackson Austin (73) passed away on November 7, 2025, in Wayne County, TN. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He is preceded in death by parents Richard and Ella Austin.

Richard worked in many places. One place he worked was Cray Research where he designed a computer that would cure a type of leukemia.

He spent 6 years in the United States Air Force.

Raised an awesome family of 4 kids, then losing his son, Richard, in an accident. Later he worked at the GE plant, Huntsville, AL. He was a great concert pianist and organ repairman.

Survived by his wife, Sandra, sister Deb Austin, son Joseph Austin, daughters, Jane Austin and Katie Austin.

Grandsons: Jackson Glenn Conner, James Richard Baker

Stepsons: Benjamin Dewite Hunter, Daniel Thomas Hunter

Stepdaughter: Rachel Marie Moore

Step grandchildren: Dorian J Cerutti, Ethan David Hunter, Kylea Marie Cerutti, Caylen Joni Moore, Paisley Grace Hunter, River Clinton Moore.

Great granddaughter: Adeline Rose Sorensen

Step granddaughter: Alyssa Taylor
