Peggy Jean Wilcher died June 2, 2011 at her home in Tullahoma. Peggy was born March 6, 1947 in Houston, TX, the third of seven children of William and Mary Arnold. She grew up in Greenwood, LA and met her future husband, George Wilcher, at Louisiana Tech. They married in 1968. Peggy completed her college education at the University of Houston with a degree in marketing. In addition to her mother, Mary Trosper of Dallas, TX, and husband, George, Peggy is survived by her son Michael Dawn Wilcher of O’Fallan, MO and her grand-daughter Evie Grace. Peggy’s surviving siblings are Silvia Laurence Madeo, St. Louis, MO; Cynthia Bowlin, Dallas, TX; William Jackie Arnold III, Vickburg, MS; Mary Arnold Prabhat Jain, New Orleans, LA; Robert Arnold, New Orleans, LA; and Rosemary Scott Riles, Lexington, SC. Peggy was a gifted artist and silversmith. She enjoyed gardening, and making watercolor paintings of flowers from her garden and that of her friends. She also enjoyed playing golf with the Lakewood Ladies Association, and was an avid reader and a member of the Lakewood Ladies Book Club. Peggy was a talented seamstress and loved making dresses for her grand-daughter. She was a volunteer with Hospice of the Highland Rim and Partners for Healing. The family will celebrate Peggy’s life on Monday, June 6, 2011 at 3:00 PM from the First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma. They will receive visitors of family and friends from 1:00 until the service hour. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Camp Bluebird Middle Tennessee, 1458 Pilot Knob Rd, Eva, TN 38333 or at www.CampBluebirdNashville.org Arrangements under the direction of the Cremation Society of Tennessee.
