Michael R. Ranshaw, 68, of Franklin, TN passed away peacefully while under hospice care on December 5, 2022 from complications due to thyroid cancer. He is survived by his loving wife, Lori Ellyn (nee Manis, Willmann) Ranshaw, Children Peter Ranshaw, Matthew (Brooke) Ranshaw, Molly (Brian) Hartfield, Thomas (Alexandra) Ranshaw, Maggie (Houston) Hagler, and Emma (Hutch) Martinez. Surviving grandchildren are Michael and Libby Ranshaw, Lynlee, Aven, Maxen, Ruthie, and Granden Ranshaw, Breelyn and Brecker Hartfield, and Brooks Ranshaw. He is also survived by six stepchildren and eleven step-grandchildren.

Michael is also survived by his siblings William “Bill” (Kay Ann) Ranshaw, Monte “Pete” (Sara) Ranshaw, and Brenda (Ranshaw) Moore, and eight nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind an uncle, Roger (Phyllis) Whiles and many cousins.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Henry and Delores Mildred Ranshaw.

Michael was an accomplished studio musician and bass guitarist for many years but was best known for his rich baritone voice and love of singing and entertaining. He was also a successful businessman who became an expert in operations and business consulting within the food and beverage industry. His hobbies were travel, golf, and enjoying his family and friends every time he had the opportunity to do so.

Michael will always be remembered for his love and concern for people. He had a tremendous gift for making others feel special and significant in some way. He intentionally chose to live by the commandments Jesus gave His followers, to “love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ and ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” (Matthew 22: 37-40).

A Celebration of Life Service for Michael will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Church at West Franklin, 700 TN-96, Franklin, TN 37064.
