A former underground coal miner, Mike went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Following his graduation, Mike worked as a financial analyst for EDS, a multinational information and technology company and subsidiary of GM. I worked with Mike while at Saturn. I learned immediately that you always knew where you stood with Mike and you always knew what was on his mind! LOL! He loved shooting pool and riding his Harley. If I didn’t make an EDS/Saturn lunch at the Chinese buffet in Cool Springs he would email me and threaten to show up at my house. LOL. Thank you Mike for your service to this country but thank you even more for your friendship. Rest in peace brother.

I need to add Mike also was a life member of Jerry Reed Music City Amvets post 1776 and a life member and former treasurer of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 953. He was on the Board of Directors of each as well. Mike was a great friend and I always looked forward to seeing him at our events. As Team Lead, I could always trust Mike to take care of the Fund Raisers at the Rivergate Wal-mart. Last year, Mike and I started golfing together. We were already discussing outings in April, that now, are not to be. RIP my friend.

Mike and I worked together for EDS at the Saturn Northfield location, in Spring Hill for over 10 years. Actually, we sat in a double cube for a few years working with Financial Analysis for EDS account. At the office we experienced 9/11 together, which devastated him and brought back some not so good memories. He was with me at lunch one day and I had a TIA-stroke, called security for ambulance and kept in touch. He was so concerned and visited me,while I was out on sick leave. He was always a good listener and good friend and I will miss him. At lunch time, we would take a motorcycle ride sometime! Remember a large hill in Columbia and going pretty fast. We laughed about that. I am proud that I knew Mike, he was very focused on Veteran Affairs and fund raisers for our soldiers. He endured a lot in Vietnam and paid for it through his life until a few years ago, when he told me, he was at peace. He visited VN and even married a lovely lady from there. I do believe he was happier than he had ever been. My husband and I had the pleasure of being invited to his home in Hendersonville in 2014. I am so glad we were able to be there with him, talking about his record collection and looking at beautiful pictures of his wedding and other pics of VN. Rest in Peace my Friend will see you again.
