Obituary

Mrs. Marian R. Stillwagon, age 97 of Nashville, TN, formerly of Uniontown, PA, died Saturday evening at the home of her son, Bart. She is best remembered as a dedicated wife and mother to her family. Mrs. Stillwagon was born on July 10, 1913 to Bertram Ross and Bessie Richey Connor in Connellsville, PA. She was a homemaker, member of the Bellvue United Methodist Church and Judd-Wesley Sunday School Class, as well as a former member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Uniontown, PA. In addition to her husband, Joseph Leroy Stillwagon, she was preceded in death by a sister: Vespa Rae Connor Lujack. She is survived by her son: Joseph Barton “Bart” Midge Stillwagon of Nashville, TN and James Lee Kathy Stillwagon of Perrysburg, OH; eight grandchildren: Christopher Scott Stillwagon, Heather Lyn Brian Stare, Jennifer Lea Tony Whitney, Rachel Anne Shawn Berchick, Sarah Elaine Sergio Becerra, Joseph Thurman Adrian Stillwagon, Rebecca Stillwagon, and Joshua Stillwagon; and 9 great-grandchildren. The family will celebrate her life on Saturday, Feb 12 at the Bellevue United Methodist Church, 7501 Old Harding Rd, in Nashville at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Foundation for the Blind www.afb.org. Mrs. Stillwagon will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Lafayette Memorial Gardens in Brier Hill, PA on Saturday, March 12 at 2:00 PM, following a memorial service in the chapel.

  1. My Grandmother was a great lady. I was blessed to have her in my life for so many years. She taught me so much about life and love and I will cherish those times with her forever. Peace be with you Grammy and may you touch the face of God and live forever with Jesus in His kingdom of heaven.
