Luella Heath

Luella Faye Mishler Heath of Nashville, TN, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021. She was 93 years old. Known by everyone as Mama Lou, she was a member of Lincoya Baptist Church. Mama Lou was a graduate of Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo. She served as Children’s Minister at Two Rivers Baptist Church for many years where she led literally 100’s of children and adults to find a relationship with Christ. She led conferences and training events across the United States to help church leaders minister effectively to children of all ages. She wrote books and Bible study materials for children and shared countless numbers of children’s sermons over the years. Her giving spirit led her to plan a Christmas party for the Tennessee School for the Blind in 1980 for 10 needy children. That tradition continued for over 30 years and helped over 1000 kids.
She was born on April 17, 1928 in Weir, Kansas to Charles Edward Mishler and Lila M. Monroe. She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Heath of Nashville.
She is survived by her husband of over 70 years, Daryl Heath, son, Kenneth (Andra) Heath of Locust Grove, Georgia; son, Robin (Vicki) Heath of Edisto Island, South Carolina; daughter, Kathy “Pearl” Brick of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; son, Timothy (Kaylyn) Heath of Nashville, 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service is planned for October 9th in Nashville. Out of a need for caution, this will be an in-person for family only, but we will live stream it for those who might want to view it. Since we will not meet everyone in-person, we are asking for notes or stories that you would like to share to be sent to DandLHeath@gmail.com. We will share these with our family and then compile them in a book for Dad to read later.
Because children were her life, in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Holt International. https://support.holtinternational.org/site/Donation2?4156.donation=form1&df_id=4156&_ga=2.54026344.1763115034.1632245236-2050825653.1632245236
