Saddened to hear that one of THE most brilliant and talented embroidery historians and designers is no longer here with us – shared many happy times over many years when she visited the UK, & also when I went to the USA. I especially remember a crazy road trip we took together from San Fransisco to Los Angeles via Half Moon Bay where we stayed with a lovely friend of Linn’s – Robin – then on to her home in “Hollwierd” as she called it, & and then out to the desert where we both taught classes at Riverside at a huge Cross Stitch & embroidery festival. I remember her MAKING me go to Disney at Anaheim because it was her Birthday – I did not want to go to Disney, but she did and we had an amazing day before we went off to San Diego. Sadly we lost contact when she moved from LA – and I couldn’t ring her anymore… Just today someone was looking at some of the samplers on my wall and particulary admired amongst all the antique samplers one I had stitched instead – a little reversible blackwork one I started stitching at her home and during our trip, So I thought I would try and find her again – sadly I found this instead …. So Sorry Linn – What a lovely lady……….
