Obituary
After a brief struggle with Cancer, Sunday morning, August 26th 2012, Joyce Annette Belyea, passed into the arms of her Lord. Saturday, August 25th, would have been Joyce and Ed Belyea’s 70th Anniversary. Joyce, was born on August 23rd, 1919, in Chicago Illinois. We celebrated her 93rd birthday, this last Thursday. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Gerald Belyea. They were so in love and since August 7th, 1997, our Dad has been waiting for this reunion. Joyce and Ed spent many happy years in Traverse City, Michigan with their four children. Joyce, moved to Nashville, TN to be near her daughter after hurricane’s “Frances” and “Jean” destroyed her home in Vero Beach Florida. She has made many friends here and was a member of the YMCA in Green Hills, where she did water aerobics. Her friends grew to love the “lady in the pink robe,” as they called her. She always said she was blessed with four wonderful children, Ed, Don, Floyd and Annette, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends but her children and friends agree, they were the one’s blessed by her selfless devotion of love, always putting others before herself. Joyce was a wonderful artist and pianist and had the best sense of humor. Her positive attitude, generous spirit and “one day at a time” approach to life, was shared with everyone she met. All of her children came together at Joyce’s daughter’s home in Fairview, TN for a small memorial and celebration of her life. Many stories, laughter, tears and lots of hugs, were shared. We are all so thankful and blessed to have known such a beautiful woman, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Please honor and celebrate her life in your own way and always remember her beautiful smile. As she used to always say, “if you see someone without a smilegive them one of yours.” If we could all practice a little of the way Joyce Belyea lived each day, the World would sure be a better place. Please share a story or comment, in the guest book about Joyce and how she may have touched your life. Thank you all for your love and prayers,
The family of Joyce Belyea
