Obituary
Joseph Sudzius, born Juozas Sudzius near Sveksna, Lithuania, age 93, passed away Monday at NHC in Franklin, Tennessee. Joseph was a veteran officer of World War II, after which he emigrated to the United States. He settled in Cicero, Illinois, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology. He retired and moved to Sunny Hills, Florida, before relocating to Middle Tennessee to be with family in 2010. He was one of eleven children born to and raised by the late Barbora Alminauskaite and Juozapas Sudzius. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Danute Sudzius, his brother Vytantas, his son Linas, his daughter-in-law Cathy, and his beloved grandchildren Brandon and Amber Sudzius, along with many other friends and family, many of whom still live in Lithuania. Joseph enjoyed being with his family and sharing his Luthuanian heritage. He also had a lifelong love of reading. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, january 19, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9100 Crockett Road, Brentwood, TN 37027. The service will be held in the Chapel. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Haiti Mission at H oly Family Catholic Church at the address above.
