Obituary

Joseph Mack Powell, 72 of Bethpage, TN. passed away Sunday July 20, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Nashville, TN. Mack was born to the late Nathan & Geraldine Powell in Lynchburg, VA. on May 30, 1942. Mack proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the Air Force. He was preceded in death by his daughter Anita Kay Elkins. In 2004 Mack married Pamela Gail Triplett. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Mack spent most of his spare time in his shop building bird houses. Mack is survived by three daughters: Judy Ann Childress of Birmingham, AL.; Connie Sue Moran Thomas of Bean Station, TN.; & Seanseree Dawn Peterson of Bethpage, TN. Four Sons: Aruthur Joe Powell Rae of Hayden, AL; Ernest Floyd Powell of Knoxville, TN.; Shane Alan Wilson of Smyrna, TN.; and Shanan Ty Wilson Amanda of St. Augustine, FL. He loved his 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday July 24, 2014 at Nashville National Cemetery in Madison, TN. Cremation Society of Tennessee is in charge of the arrangements.
