James Payton Simpson

James “Payton” Simpson, age 41 passed away on September 23, 2020, at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Payton was born on July 25th, 1979 in Colorado Springs to his parents James Simpson Jr. and Katherine Kaufman. Payton as he loved to be called was a strong and caring man who always put everyone else’s needs above his own. Payton was able to be whatever you needed when you were in need, a father, a brother, a cousin or a friend. Payton who looked and felt larger than life made an impact on everyone that he came in contact with. He was a loving son who would have done anything for his parents.

Payton would not want us to be sad, he would want us all to remember the happy times and live our life to the fullest as he did.

A service in Payton’s honor will be held privately by his family at a later time.

Payton is survived by his two children Brylee and Raegan. Payton lived a full life as a son, brother, father, nephew, and friend.

Donations in honor of Payton may be made to The Big Brothers, Big Sister of America so the work that Payton believed in can continue.
