Mr. Herman E. Wooten, age 88 of Antioch, TN, died Sunday morning, Jan 2 at the Signature Health Care of Columbia. Mr. Wooten was a native of Comanche, OK and son of the late Leonard Douglass and Annie O’Neil Wooten. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army. Among his many recognitions, he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a life-long minister focusing on missions for the Baptist Church. Mr. Wooten was preceded in death by his wife: Frances Terrell Wooten in 2005, two sons: Leonard Douglass Wooten in 2008 and David K. Wooten in 2010; and a sister: Patricia Barnes. He is survived by his daughter: Lisa Steve Hansel of Antioch, TN; eight grandchildren: Aaron Kelly Wooten, Shannon Michelle Wooten Pierce, Andrea Sanderson, Jason Lee Wooten, Amy Wooten, Micah Eugene Wooten, Lindsay Marie Hansel, and Travis Edward Hansel; and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted at a later date. Interment will be in the Redding Memorial Park in Redding, CA.
