Obituary

Helen Harter Garner, age 89 of Franklin, TN, formerly of Las Cruces, New Mexico, died Sunday evening June 26, 2011 at the Belvedere Commons in Franklin. Mrs. Garner was a native of Tacoma Park, Maryland, daughter of the late Harold Edward and Caroline Max Garner, and widow of Byron O. Garner II. She was a long time resident of Las Cruces, New Mexico and prior to that of Union City, Tennessee where her husband engaged in practice of general surgery for many years. She is survived by three children: Gwendolyn Ann Garner Ellis of Vancouver, BC, Canada, Byron Onyx Garner III of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and John Porter Garner of Franklin, Tennessee; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will conduct private services to celebrate Mrs. Garner’s life.
