Harold Joseph “Harry” South, Sr, age 61 of Hohenwald, Tennessee, died Sunday, June 19 at LifeCare Center in Centerville, Tennessee Harry was a native of Flint, Michigan and son of the late Gordon McDowell and Mrs. Mary Keenan South of Michigan. He was a millwright and commercial carpenter, and a member of the Blondy Church of God in Hohenwald. He is survived by his wife: Paula Kelly South of Hohenwald; mother: Mary Keenan South of Michigan; 3 sons: Timothy, Joe, and Harry Jr; daughter: Kelly Garza; and 4 grandchildren. The family will celebrate Harry’s life with a memorial service to be announced, and is being assisted by the Cremation Society of Tennessee.

  1. Harry’s transparent love for his fellows saved more souls than we will ever know. I will always remember him quoting the big book and the bible to help me to understand his truth he was sharing.his life was a testament to hope, change, faith and love.. for us and for his family . we need more people like Harry . never forgotten . we’re happy to have known him.     My Dad was a great inspiration to me we spent so much time together ‘if it was listening to the blues as we did auto body together or just talking on the phone i have so many many memories of him and i know I will miss him forever but i also know he is at peace enjoying that good life that someday i also will get to embrace and to be with him my children and my other loved ones till we met again and we will i sure do love and miss you pop love your rosebud
