Harold “David” Dukes, age 69, passed away on August 16, 2026, at his home in Columbia, Tennessee.

Born in Palatka, Florida, David was the son of the late Harold Eldridge Dukes and Hazel Green Dukes. A talented athlete, he played football as a kicker throughout high school and college. David earned his bachelor’s degree from Harding University, where he met his future wife, Lisa Williams. The two married in 1979 and were married for 47 years.

David was a loving father to his only daughter, Ashley, with whom he shared many special memories. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Will and Taylor. His family will carry the memories they shared with him in the years to come.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Williams Dukes; his daughter, Ashley (Timothy) Goode; his grandchildren, “Will” David Goode and Taylor Olivia Goode; his brother, Harry (Doris) Dukes; and his beloved Goldendoodle, Henry.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister, Joan.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in David’s honor to Spring Hill Church of Christ or Harding University.
