Gladys M. Sorensen

Gladys M Sorensen of Henderson, North Carolina, passed into eternal life with Jesus on Tuesday, August 30th, 2011. Gladys was the daughter of the late John Sorensen and his wife, the late Madsine Mogensen Sorensen, and the step-daughter of the late Jenny Karoline Grann Sorensen. Gladys, 90, was living in retirement with her nephew and his family in Franklin, TN. She retired from J.C. Penney in 1983 after serving faithfully in the Henderson stores for 42 years. She joined J.C. Penney after attending Peace College in Raleigh, N.C. . Gladys was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Henderson. Gladys is survived by niece, Karen Sorensen Wagner, wife of the late Frederic Wagner; nephew, Eric Sorensen and wife, Gail; niece, Kathy Sorensen Kendrick and husband, Weston Kendrick; great-nephews Kevin Wagner, Perry Sorensen, Michael Kendrick, Derek Kendrick; great-nieces Phoebe Sorensen Pritchett , Erin Wagner Monier; great-great nephews, Joshua Pritchett, John Wagner, Ben Monier, and great-great nieces, Allie Wagner and Chloe Pritchett. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 404 BNA Drive, Suite 102, Nashville, TN 37217 . Cremation Society of Tennessee is assisting the family with the arrangements.
