In the year 1968 I was young and thought I could have a career in radio broadcasting. Only two people felt this dream could become a reality, me and Skeeter. He hired me at WMDE in Greensboro and put me on the air the next day. Looking back over my 44 years in both radio and television broadcast I realize how much I learned from him. And of all those things I learned from him, only a few related to broadcasting. I learned how to handle everyday situations, how to make people smile, and how to approach each day with a positive attitude. My only regret was not letting him know how much he taught me.
