Obituary

Larry Duncan, age 78, passed away on September 18, 2026. Born in Pulaski, TN, Larry was the son of Earnest and Mae Duncan.

Larry married the love of his life, Sandra Beard Duncan, almost sixty years ago. They always had each other’s back, and you rarely saw one without the other. They raised their son, Larry “Bo” Duncan is Prospect, TN, where Larry and Bo shared many memories hunting, fishing and farming. He never missed a ballgame of his grandson, Weston Duncan, and welcomed Abigail into the family as if she had always been there.

From an early age, Larry had a taste of excitement. From drag racing to cruising, there was not much that didn’t turn into an adventure for him.

He learned the value of hard work early in life, working as a bag boy at the local grocery. He served as a butcher at CEE BEE Grocery for decades, eventually purchasing the store. But it wasn’t just about business. The store became a way for Larry to take care of his community. He was a compassionate leader who treated his employees like family and believed in doing right by all. He served as a member of the Giles County School Board and the Tarpley Shop Water Board.

Earnest Larry Duncan was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Frank Duncan and Roxie Mae Martin Duncan.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Sandra Duncan, son Earnest Larry Duncan, II, and grandson Weston Duncan and wife Abigail. He is also survived by many cousins, friends, and neighbors who will remember him as the life of the party, always smiling, laughing, and making everyone around him feel welcome.
