Obituary

David Harold Hegland passed away November 2nd at the VA Hospital in Nashville. A Pilot, a motorcycle enthusiast, a hiker, biker, swimmer, an amateur astrommer, a Dr. Doolittle of sorts, these were all words used to describe David Hegland by his loving wife Sue Hegland. He was a man that served his country with pride and loved his family with intensity. He was born in Ames, Iowa on September 28, 1945, the son of the late Harold and Evelyn Hegland. After Vietnam he went and pursued a Master’s degree and has worked in Compensation Management for many years. David was a member of the Barnard-Seyfert Astronomical Society. Mr. Hegland is survived by his loving wife Sue Hegland of Nashville TN, and his two sons Jason Kim Hegland and Christopher Susanne Iverson both of San Francisco California. A memorial service will be at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church where he was a member, 113 8TH Avenue South, Nashville, TN on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. Cremation Society of Tennessee is assisting the family with the arrangements.
