Danny Alan Wardlow, 76, of Counce, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, at Park Rest Nursing Home, in Savannah, TN. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Danny’s life was marked by hard work, quiet strength, and deep devotion to his family and country.
Born to Clinton and Helen Wardlow, Danny was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Buddy Wardlow. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Wardlow, and his children: Mindy (Clint) Hurst, Scott Bumpas, Stacy Carnal, and Jill Daniel. He was a proud grandfather to Jessica Hurst, Rachel Monroe, River Hurst, Sara Hurst, Brett Carnal, Alex Carnal, Claire Adkisson, and Taylor Willis, as well as six cherished great-grandchildren.
Danny is also survived by his siblings: Linda (Alton) Burks, Donald Wardlow, Jean (James) McMeans, Bobby Wardlow, Randy (Diane) Wardlow, Harry Wardlow, and Kelly (Sherry) Wardlow, along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss him dearly.
Danny owned and operated his own logging company, a testament to his tireless work ethic and love for the outdoors. He found joy in fishing, target shooting, and woodworking—often spending hours whittling and adding to his growing collection of arrowheads. His hands were always busy, and his heart was always full when surrounded by those he loved.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Danny served with honor in Vietnam. His service to his country was a source of pride and a reflection of his courage and commitment.
Danny was deeply loved and will be remembered for his warm presence, his quiet humor, and the way he made everyone feel like family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he helped create.
A graveside service will be held in his honor on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh Methodist Church. Tim Carothers and Randy Cook will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a charity of your choice in Danny’s memory.
