Obituary
Mr. Clinton J. Vanhook, Sr., age 76 of Columbia, passed away suddenly December 5, 2011. He was born in Acorn, Kentucky on December 7, 1934 to the late Sidney Lawton Vanhook and Grace Marie Woodall Vanhook. Clint served two tours of duty in the armed services. He was a veteran of the Korean War while he served the United States Air Force from 1953-1958. He then served four years of active duty in The United States Navy from 1958-1962, during the conflict of the Formosa Straits. Clinton was a career over-the-road truck driver, having received many awards for safe and accident free driving for nearly sixty years of service. Left behind to share memories of their beloved father are his two sons: Clinton “Dutch” Helen Vanhook of Conroe, Texas and WilliamCindy Lawton Vanhook; two brothers: JimPat Vanhook and EdselBarbara Vanhook; two sisters: Audrey Jess Allen and Mary Jo “Judy” Bryant; grandchildren: Katrina Carmean, Christopher Vanhook, Casey Vanhook, Savannah Vanhook; great grandchildren: Autumn, April, Tritian, and Taylor. Clint is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years., Beruta Y. Vanhook, his sister Helen, and brother Kenny. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home.

So very hard to hear of Clinton’s passing. I’ll never forget the time he came to my house in Wyie when he lived in Garland. Praying for all of his family
