Charlene Elaine Sullenberger

Mrs. Charlene Elaine Sullenberger, age 69, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Charlene was born on July 8, 1946 in Blodgett, Oregon to Cecil Wesley Davison and Lorine Marjorie Wells Davison. She earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health Education from Loma Linda University. It was there that she met the love of her life. She married Jim Sullenberger on February 22, 1970 and they loved each other deeply. She was the light of her husband’s life.

Throughout their marriage Charlene was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She chose to stay at home and dedicate her life to her family throughout their forty-five year marriage. Her husband remembers that she was sweet, full of grace and that she kept smiling even through her suffering during her final illness. She was very giving and generous, and was always thinking and doing for others. She was a Christian of the Seventh-Day Adventist faith and lived her faith out in witness to others in her daily life.

She is survived by her loving husband: Jim Sullenberger; children: Cheryl Rubin (Arron) Foulkron, John Sullenberger and Karen (Paul) Roesner; and seven grandsons: Michael Sullenberger, Devan Rubin, Evan Watkins, Connor Rubin, Josiah Watkins, Jeremiah James Rubin and Alexander James Dean Roesner.

The family will celebrate Charlene’s life at a later date.

Cremation Society of Tennessee is assisting the family with the arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.cremationsocietyoftn.com.
