Carol Elaine Elizer, 70, of Cornersville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025.
Born to Thomas and Helen Clark, Carol grew up with a deep love for family and home. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, as well as her sisters, Tammy Guy and Wendy Clark.
Carol leaves behind her devoted husband of 49 years, Dick Elizer, with whom she shared a remarkable life and partnership. Together, they built not only a marriage but also a business—owning and operating their own architectural company, where they specialized in designing and constructing log homes. A gifted draftsman, Carol meticulously hand-drew each design, pouring her skill and heart into every line. She and Dick even built their own home, a true labor of love, and their work took them on travels to many places, creating memories along the way.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Helena Boddie Elizer (Jamie Whitsett), Melanie Lynn Wilson, and Christopher Dickson Elizer; her brother, Martin M. Clark (Kim); and her cherished grandchildren: Addie, Clark, Christian, Sydney, and Kennedy.
Carol was a loyal and loving wife, a devoted mother who succeeded in loving her family deeply and well, and a grandmother whose presence brought warmth and joy. She enjoyed the quiet artistry of needlepoint and found happiness in creating beauty with her hands.
A memorial service to celebrate Carol’s life will be held at a later date, with music provided by the local gospel group, the Soggy Bottom Boys, singing many of her favorite hymns.
Carol’s legacy is one of love, devotion, and the homes—both physical and emotional—that she helped build. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
