Bertha Lee Spencer

Bertha Lee Spencer, age 60, of Dickson, TN, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at TriStar Centennial in Nashville, TN.

Bertha was born June 19, 1957 in Dickson Co., TN, the daughter of the late Dewey Cunningham and Bertha May Forsythe Cunningham. She was a homemaker whose main purpose in life was serving the Lord. She worked tirelessly in her church, Freedom Baptist Church, and helped those less fortunate than she. Bertha loved to write and sing songs. Her daughters recall that she used what little resources she had for the welfare of others.

Bertha is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Bissinger of Dickson, TN and Christina (Lance) Wright of Mineral, VA; grandchildren, Kayla Leatherman, Trinity Bissinger, Keeli Bissinger, Kira Bissinger, Holleigh Wright, Briley Bissinger, Amora Wright and Gage Bissinger; her siblings, Kay (Ricky) Denton, Pat (C.B.) Black, Dewey (Anna) Cunningham, Donna (Kurt) Heber and Norma (Bubba) Brewster along with several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life for Bertha will be conducted Saturday at 12:00 Noon at the Freedom Baptist Church with Pastor Dennie Boren, Jr., officiating.
