Obituary
Mrs. Annie Ruth Hardison Sanford Jones, age 94, resident Grenadiere Drive in Franklin, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at NHC Nursing Facility on Fairground Street in Franklin. Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be conducted at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Shorter Chapel A.M.E. Church, 255 Natchez Street in Franklin with Dr. Charlotte Blake Syndor officiating. Interment will follow at Rosemount Cemetery in Columbia. The Jones Family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until service time on Saturday at the church. Pallbearers will be Houston Taylor, Livingston Taylor, Nathaniel Blackmun, Charles Reese and Willie Spruill. Mrs. Jones was born on December 20, 1916 in Columbia. She went to school in Maury County. After graduation from high school, Mrs. Jones attended Tennessee State College and then taught school in the Maury County area. She joined the Mount Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church and later became a devoted member of Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church in Columbia. She married William P. Sanford and they moved to Michigan. After the death of Mr. Sanford, she went to beauty school and was a beautician for about a year, before becoming a social worker. She then married Charles Jones who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Jones moved to Franklin, TN over twenty-three years ago to be with her mother. Mrs. Jones is survived by her nephew, Clarence Hardison and his children, Zoelithia, Chiquita, Lasheema and Clarence, Jr.; cousins, Norma Baskerville, Seth Porter and William Billy Porter; friends, Rev. & Mrs. Daniel McCandless of Columbia, Eva Mitchell of Nashville, Clara White of Pontiac, Michigan, Beulah Whittaker of Columbia, special neighbor and friends, Beatrice Leach, Jennie Mary Robinson and her friends and care-giver, Linda Terrell and Buddy Tate who was like a son to Mrs. Jones.

My dear sweet,sweet, “grandmother.” I will miss you so very much, but know that one day I will be with you again. Eternally your grand daughter, Diane. your grand dog, Bogie, was so glad to see you this past Sunday. He will miss your hugs and “biscuits” too.
